Mason Mingus was a young man on a mission
Sunday evening at Plymouth Speedway in
Indiana.  Unfortunately, that mission was
derailed by mechanical gremlins.

Mingus' #811 Call Before You Dig CRA Super
Series Super Late Model was quick in practice
and despite a slight hiccup in qualifying, Mingus
was on pace for a strong top-10 run, if not
better, at Plymouth until the rear-end in the car
began to fail.

The mechanical bugs kept creeping up during
the feature event and eventually brought the
#811 to the pits prematurely with a 14th-place finish.

"We were coming through traffic pretty well," said Mingus of his race at Plymouth.  "I think we were up inside the top-10 pretty quickly.  Before halfway, the rear end started to go and we were losing traction with the rear-end grease coming out.  That hurt handling a lot, so we started going backwards a bit.  I was just riding around in 12th or 13th for a while.  Lap 95 or so the rear end finally went out and we were out of the race."

With Plymouth in the rear-view, Mingus and the Call Before You Dig team are focused now on the prestigious Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in Indiana on Monday, August 1st.

"We'll definitely be ready for Anderson.  We're looking forward to it.  We went to Anderson over the weekend and tested there.  We will have a really good car.  We ran second there earlier in the year and we're going there with a chance to win the race."
