Sunday Afternoon Heat Plays Havoc For Young Rookie
After a solid finish to start the of the 2011 CRA Super Series season at Anderson Speedway (IN) Mingus headed to Baer Field Speedway near Fort Wayne, Indiana on Sunday, May 22nd.  His first trip would be eventful as he battled hard to post an 11th-place finish at day's end.

"We used the tires and everything up trying to get the car to rotate in the center," said Mingus.  "Once we burned the rubber off we were just a sitting duck up off the corner with no grip."

Mingus started 10th and picked his way up has high as sixth during the race in his #811 Call Before You Dig Chevy.  As the laps clicked off, the Brentwood, TN driver stayed with the top-10 cars before finally slipping back to 11th in the late stages.

"Good thing is we are right back at it in a week," said Mingus.  "We will get our stuff ready for Columbus next week and see if we can rebound and get a good finish."

After two races Mingus is the top CRA rookie, and has the best finish of any rookie after his second-place run at Anderson in April.  The next scheduled event for Mingus is on Monday, May 30th at Columbus Speedway (OH).
